Make sure that all the requirements mentioned in the “Before shrinking a dynamic volume” section of the Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows Administrator's Guide are met.
 

To resolve this issue, use the CLI to restart the VDS components.

  1. Stop VDS. Enter:

    net stop vds
  1. Stop the VDS components. Enter:

    taskkill /f /im vxvds.exe
    taskkill /f /im vxvdsdyn.exe
  1. Start VDS. Enter:

    net start vds
  1. Refresh the volume. Enter:

    vxassist refresh
