Error Code details
V-81-7713
Severity: Error
Component: Storage Foundation for UNIX/Linux
Message:
/opt/VRTSdbed/common/bin/vxdbd start FAILED
Description:

This message displays when vxdbd fails to start on boot. However, vxdbd starts correctly if you manually invoke vxdbdctrl.

This problem is related to an issue with the vxdbdctrl init script. The init script is scheduled too early in the init process. It tries to start before the network has started.

This message displays because the VRTSat package was not installed.

When you use the CPI installer, select the "All" package set, rather than the "Minimal" or "Recommended" package sets.  When you select the “All” package set, the system automatically installs the VRTSat package.

If a Minimal or Recommended installation is already done, manually install the VRTSatServer package from the Storage Foundation repository, then do the following:

  1. Start vxatd.

  2. Start vxdbd. Enter:

           /opt/VRTSdbed/common/bin/vxdbdctrl start
