When you upgrade or uninstall Storage Foundation products, if the Volume Manager processes are already shut down, the installer cannot determine whether there are any open volumes on the system.

If you manually shutdown the Volume Manager processes before you run the installer to upgrade or uninstall the Storage Foundation products, make sure that there are no open volumes on the system before you perform the upgrade or uninstall.
