  • NetBackup Future Platform and Feature Plans

    To better help customers plan for upcoming changes to the support status of older product functionality, features, hardware, OS, and 3rd party software products in NetBackup, Veritas will provide advanced notification as listed below. Veritas intends to list items that will no longer be supported in the next release of NetBackup. If possible, these items are listed at least six months before that release.

    The information below lists certain features, functionality, 3rd-party and Veritas products, applications, databases, and OS/Platforms. Veritas intends to replace them with newer and improved functionality, or in some cases, discontinue without replacement. The last release of NetBackup to proliferate support of the item is provided. Technotes listed in the Notes column contain additional details about available replacement options. Where a major, minor or release update version is specified, the feature or platform is supported through the last Maintenance Update (patch) of that release. Where 'All' is specified, there is support for all versions or variations of the family of the relevant or supported platforms.

    [ 2016-05-24 ] New SORT Release

    SORT delivered a release with the following features and enhancements to have in-time support for InfoScale 7.1 , Data Insight, Resiliency Platform and NBU new release. 

    General:

    • Enhanced ShellAddin(https://sort.veritas.com/shelladdin) with the following capabilities:
      • Quick access to each topic by bookmarking the links
      • Able to export the commands being played in each topic for later reference
      • Improved performance and accessibility
    • Integrated Virtual Technical Sales Specialist Team (vTSS) in SORT Mobile (https://sort.veritas.com/mobile_apps), which allows you to initiate a real-time chat session in the office hour.

    SORT delivered a release with the following features and enhancements to have in-time support for InfoScale 7.1.
