SYMPTOM:

Storage Foundation for Windows does not provide array specific support for the 
Hitachi VSP G1000 array.

DESCRIPTION:

Storage Foundation for Windows 5.1 SP1, 5.1 SP2 does not provide array specific
support for the Hitachi VSP G1000 array.


RESOLUTION:
 
This hotfix addresses the issue by providing support for the Hitachi VSP G1000 array.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------

Prerequisites:

  * On Windows 2008, you must enable MPIO server feature before installing the hotfix. 
  * On Windows 2008, apply MS MPIO KB 2522766:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2522766
  * On SFW5.1SP1, apply the below SFW patch
    https://sort.symantec.com/patch/detail/10398
  * Install the VHDSAA DSM with the DMP feature from SFW5.1SP1 or SPW5.1SP2.

To install the hotfix:
 
1. Extract the hotfix zip file and locate the appropriate file as per your operating system.
2. Unzip the selected hotfix zip file (as per your operating system) to a temporary location of the working server. 
3. From the command prompt, navigate to the temporary location where you extracted the hotfix file.
4. At the command prompt, run the following command to install the hotfix:    
   dsmcopy
5. Restart the server after you install the hotfix.

UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
---------------------------

To remove the hotfix:

1. From the command prompt, navigate to the temporary location where you extracted the hotfix file.
2. At the command prompt, run the following command to remove the installed hotfix:    
   dsmrestore
3. Restart the server after you remove the hotfix.
