DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH
---------------------------------------
This patch fixes the following incidents:

Patch ID: Patch_7_3_00000_028_3930427

* 3930427 (Tracking ID: 3930426)

SYMPTOM:
On systems where InfoScale 7.3 is installed, after a system restart, the application services may fail to start and a manual intervention may be required to start the services.

DESCRIPTION:
The auto-import functionality of dynamic disk groups after a machine restart operation was changed in the 7.2 release of Veritas InfoScale Storage and Veritas InfoScale Enterprise.
The original vxboot driver which auto-imported the dynamic disk groups during system restart was deprecated, and the Veritas DG Delayed Import Service (VxDgDI) service was configured as an automatic service to auto-import the disk groups.
The VxDgDI service starts as soon as an operating system starts and the dynamic disk groups are auto-imported after an operating system starts.

The updated behavior of disk group import causes an issue if the service dependencies are not defined for an application that is installed on VxVM volumes.
In such a scenario, after a system restart, the services may fail to start and a manual intervention may be required to start the services.

RESOLUTION:
As a part of this hotfix the vxboot driver is reinstated to auto-import the disk groups during system restart.
The VxDgDI service continues to be configured as an automatic service, however, the service does not import the disk groups.

FILE / VERSION:
Vxboot.sys / 7.3.0.28
Vxboot.cat / NA
Vxboot.inf / NA
