DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following incidents: Patch ID: vom-HF0731500 * 3968719 (Tracking ID: 3968717) SYMPTOM: You may see that Powershell execution policy changes to "RemoteSigned" when you add a VIOM Agent to VIOM CMS. DESCRIPTION: You may see that Powershell execution policy changes to "RemoteSigned" when you add a VIOM Agent to VIOM CMS. This issue occurs during VCS family discovery. We do set execution policy to "RemoteSigned" but does not set it back to original once VCS family discovery is done. RESOLUTION: We are setting execution policy to original once VCS family discovery is done. * 3973190 (Tracking ID: 3973189) SYMPTOM: Some hosts in the environment are not sending alerts for file system usage. If file system fills up, application may stop. DESCRIPTION: VIOM MH not able to send zfs file system usage and CPU utilization alerts if user set threshold on Host. RESOLUTION: User can get the usage alerts based on the threshold set. * 3973214 (Tracking ID: 3974118) SYMPTOM: /opt/VRTSsfmh/bin/vxlist command does not give any output. DESCRIPTION: VxVM vold version has been updated from 42 to 43 for VxVM version 7.3.1. RESOLUTION: Added support for vold version 43. Patch ID: vom-HF0731400 * 3930713 (Tracking ID: 3932120) SYMPTOM: hbaapp may core if Linux VM has QEMU disks. DESCRIPTION: hbaapp binary may generate core dump while discovery QEMU disks. RESOLUTION: Skip scsi inquiry for QEMU disks. * 3931182 (Tracking ID: 3931452) SYMPTOM: VIOM Licensing report does not show license information for Linux machines. DESCRIPTION: VIOM Licensing report does not show license information for Linux machines. 'dmidecode' command used to get system information does not return proper output. RESOLUTION: Using different dmidecode command to fetch the system information. * 3931681 (Tracking ID: 3945169) SYMPTOM: User can not create config plan in vCenter using addon. DESCRIPTION: User can not create config plan in vCenter using addon since no discovery of VM hosts. RESOLUTION: Issue fixed in addon. * 3932939 (Tracking ID: 3933418) SYMPTOM: Get error message while setting CPU alert. DESCRIPTION: Unable to set CPU Alert for HOST. This is due to missing perl modules. RESOLUTION: Fixed the module dependency. * 3932981 (Tracking ID: 3932937) SYMPTOM: These are new enhancements in product. DESCRIPTION: These are new enhancements in product. - Users can now create User Profiles by providing Hosts credentials and use these profiles to add Agentless Hosts in VIOM Management Server. - Users have choice to provide SSH ports as per their environment while configuring Agentless Hosts in VIOM Management Server. RESOLUTION: made changes in parsing logic for mount point text. * 3934328 (Tracking ID: 3940160) SYMPTOM: API not available to organize host under data center in server perspective DESCRIPTION: API not available to organize host in data center. RESOLUTION: Added API to organise host in data center * 3934375 (Tracking ID: 3935822) SYMPTOM: Log rotation was not happening for family discovery logs and it will cause huge file creation for logs. DESCRIPTION: File with large size getting created for log discovery due to perl upgrade for Locked.pm file. RESOLUTION: made changes in Locked.pm file to revert the log rotation code. * 3935142 (Tracking ID: 3940154) SYMPTOM: Xprtld alert not come when xprtld is down on mh. DESCRIPTION: xprld alert not appear under faults and alerts even if xprtld process in down on mh. RESOLUTION: added fix in S10ping for parsing data correctly. * 3936707 (Tracking ID: 3940151) SYMPTOM: User was not able to create rules using custom script from availability and server perspective DESCRIPTION: custom script option not available while creating rule from availability and server perspective RESOLUTION: Added facility for creating rule using custom script from server and availability perspective. * 3937189 (Tracking ID: 3940156) SYMPTOM: Search is not working on Status attribute under host tab in settings. RESOLUTION: added fix in S10ping for parsing data correctly. * 3937320 (Tracking ID: 3938135) SYMPTOM: Resize FS option will not be selectable. DESCRIPTION: Resize file system option is not selectable for volume which is mounted and part of shared DiskGroup. RESOLUTION: Made changes to fire command independently from host on which FS Resize is being done. * 3938989 (Tracking ID: 3940248) SYMPTOM: If VIOM CMS server has VRTSsfmitrp addon installed and you apply VIOM hotfix on the CMS, then Web Service may not start. DESCRIPTION: If VIOM CMS server has VRTSsfmitrp addon installed and you apply VIOM hotfix on the CMS, then Web Service may not start. RESOLUTION: Issue was due to missing jar file after applying the hotfix. Fixed the issue. * 3939525 (Tracking ID: 3944065) SYMPTOM: Discovery logs shows error message for IBM DSCLI command 'showfbvol'. DESCRIPTION: There has been some newly added attributes in 'showfbvol' command output and that leads to failure of discovery. RESOLUTION: Fixed the discovery issue by taking newly added attributes in account. * 3943557 (Tracking ID: 3944599) SYMPTOM: RVG tree node will not available under host in server perspective. DESCRIPTION: RVG tree node will not available under host tree in server perspective for some windows. RESOLUTION: Made changes to handle registry folder name as case insensitive. * 3943689 (Tracking ID: 3943725) SYMPTOM: User is able to execute vulnerable SQL code through VIOM URL DESCRIPTION: User can execute vulnerable SQL code through VIOM URL and can obtain password for VIOM users. RESOLUTION: Made changes to filter suspicious code in SQL. * 3943980 (Tracking ID: 3944201) SYMPTOM: In Product Deployment Summary Chart bar for versions higher than 7.2 is not present. DESCRIPTION: At the time of a new release bar for that release should be added in Product Deployment Summary Chart, so that information pertaining to it is shown properly. RESOLUTION: Fixed the issue by adding bar for the releases higher than 7.2 . * 3945171 (Tracking ID: 3945170) SYMPTOM: Support for online/offline/switch service group using VIOM API DESCRIPTION: Service Group can be online/offline/switch using VIOM API. DESCRIPTION: Replication group with assigned pair of Replicated devices discovery in VIOM RESOLUTION: Made changes for Replication group discovery and visualisation in VIOM GUI * 3946427 (Tracking ID: 3946599) SYMPTOM: VIOM CMS GUI shows that add Managed Hosts task takes lots of time to complete. DESCRIPTION: VIOM CMS GUI shows that add Managed Hosts task takes lots of time to complete. This issue may occur if there are many nodes in a cluster. RESOLUTION: The issue was due to Infoscale command taking more time to complete. As a fix, we are not executing the command at the time of add host. We have also increased command execution interval from 3 hours to 12 hours. * 3946458 (Tracking ID: 3946594) SYMPTOM: VIOM CMS HA-DR configuration fails and you may see that /var/VRTSsfmcs/SFMha_dir/- slave_cs_config.pl loops continuously in clean_up(). DESCRIPTION: VIOM CMS HA-DR configuration fails and you may see that /var/VRTSsfmcs/SFMha_dir/- slave_cs_config.pl loops continuously in clean_up(). RESOLUTION: Fixed the CMS HA-DR issue. Please follow below steps to apply fix on DR nodes. a.) First, apply the patch on VIOM CMS nodes running on Primary site. b.) Download vom-7.3.1.300.sfa on DR nodes and rename it as vom-7.3.1.300.tar.gz. c.) Unzip it and you get Linux/VRTSsfmh-7.3.1.300.tar.gz. d.) Unzip Linux/VRTSsfmh-7.3.1.300.tar.gz and now you get VRTSsfmcs_7.3.1.300_Linux.rpm and VRTSsfmh_7.3.1.300_Linux.rpm packages. c.) Upgrade both packages manually on DR nodes using 'rpm -Uvh <Package_Name>' command. d.) Now, configure CMS HA in DR mode. * 3946798 (Tracking ID: 3946797) SYMPTOM: You may not receive email alerts and SNMP traps for objects under Organization Entities(OE). DESCRIPTION: VIOM CMS may not generate Email Alerts and SNMP Traps for faults for objects under Organization Entities(OE). RESOLUTION: The issue was due to some perl module upgrade and and now has been fixed. * 3949232 (Tracking ID: 3953092) SYMPTOM: VIOM CMS GUI does not show dmp alerts when dmp path is removed on windows MH. DESCRIPTION: DMP based alert does not appear under alerts and rules page when dmp path is removed on windows mh. RESOLUTION: Fixed the issue by taking into account the path count and raising an alert when path count is decreased for windows MH. * 3949482 (Tracking ID: 3953002) SYMPTOM: After making changes on Overview and Inventory tabs, like add/remove a portlet, the change is not persistent after logging out and logging back in. DESCRIPTION: After making changes on Overview and Inventory tabs, like add/remove a portlet, the change is not persistent after logging out and logging back in. RESOLUTION: Fixed the issue in Global dashboard for Overview and Inventory tabs. * 3950324 (Tracking ID: 3928770) SYMPTOM: VRTSsfmh patch deployment on AIX servers from VIOM CMS may fail. You may see that after patch install operation, AIX server may go in disconnected state. DESCRIPTION: VRTSsfmh patch deployment on AIX servers from VIOM CMS may fail. You may see that after patch install operation, AIX server may go in disconnected state. RESOLUTION: The issue was due to error thrown by xprtld process during patch installation. Fixed the issue by handling starting of process. * 3951794 (Tracking ID: 3951793) SYMPTOM: On VIOM Linux CMS, after applying patch 7.3.1.300 or lower, you may see that Disks, Disk Groups and Volumes discovery does not work for CMS server. DESCRIPTION: On VIOM Linux CMS, after applying patch 7.3.1.300 or lower, you may see that Disks, Disk Groups and Volumes discovery does not work for CMS server. This is due to /opt/VRTSsfmh/bin/vxlist command does not work. RESOLUTION: Changed the backup location of vxdclid plugins at the time of patch installation on VIOM CMS. INSTALLING THE PATCH -------------------- IMPORTANT NOTE : Please take a backup of the database using the instructions given in the Admin guide before installing this Hotfix. This Hotfix is applicable for VOM 7.3.1 Managed Hosts as well as VOM 7.3.1 Management Server. 1. Download the file vom-7.3.1.500.sfa 2. Launch a browser and login to the VIOM management server. 3. Navigate to Settings -> Deployment Icon. 4. Upload the Hotfix to the VIOM CMS using the "Upload Solutions" button. The Hotfix vom-7.3.1.500 should be visible in the Hot Fixes tree node. 5. Please install this Hotfix on CS using the following instructions: - Go to Settings -> Deployment -> Hot Fixes -> Veritas Infoscale Operations Manager Managed Host. - Click on Hot Fixes Tab. Click on Applicable Hosts Tab. - Right click on CS Name and click on Install. REMOVING THE PATCH ------------------ Un-installation and rollback of this Hotfix is supported only on Solaris 11 and AIX platforms.
