SUMMARY OF ISSUES FIXED BY THE HOTFIX

Hotfix 3.4.0.5:
* STESC-3885 (VRP-27083) - NBU Discovery is failing with system error.
			 (VRP-27498) - ers-query service is not starting automatically after a crash.
			
* VRP-27292 - Create RG failed at step "Get DRL Image Path" 

DETAILS OF ISSUES FIXED BY THE HOTFIX
--------------------------------------------
This hotfix fixes the following JIRA issues:

* STESC-3885 (Fix Tracking ID - VRP-27083)

SYMPTOM: VRP takes long time to discover NBU Master with large catalog.

DESCRIPTION: VRP lists all images created in last 6 months to find the VMs that are backed up by various policies. This takes time if the catalog is very huge. 

RESOLUTION: NBU discovery in VRP is now restricted to do the initial catalog search to 7 days only and the periodic discovery is optimized to list only the new images since last successful discovery.

* STESC-3885 (Fix Tracking ID - VRP-27498)

SYMPTOM: VRP’s ERS Query service doesn’t restart automatically if killed for any reason.

DESCRIPTION: The script for parsing the service status couldn’t identify the script state because of the long service name. Hence the service couldn’t be restarted.

RESOLUTION: The script is now fixed to correctly identify the service status in any condition.

* VRP-27292

SYMPTOM : Create Resiliency Group workflow fails at step "Get DRL Image Path".

DESCRIPTION:  If NBU CRS is added in a DC and after that if user tries to Create the RG then it fails because the respective backend operation API fails to return the correct IMS as there are now two IMS’s of type ‘IMS’ as well as ‘NBU’.

RESOLUTION: Instead of returning the first entry of IMS list, we are returning the IMS of type ‘IMS’.


INSTALLING THE HOTFIX
--------------------
  1. Contact Veritas Technical Support for this Hot Fix and check if the hotfix is relevant to issue seen in your environment.
  2. Download the hotfix and copy it to any server having access to VRP appliances.
  3. Make sure there is no operation in progress while the hotfix is being applied.
  4. Perform the following steps to upload the hotfix
    a) Open the SFTP session from clish
	   utilities> sftp-session start put hotfix
	b) Provide the password for this temporary SFTP session
	c) Open SFTP session using the above created user information and upload the hotfix
  5. Perform the following steps to install the hotfix
    a) Verify that the hotfix is uploaded from clish
	   hotfix> list-available-hotfixes
	b) Apply the hotfix from clish
	   hotfix> apply-hotfix 3.4.0.5
  6. Verify hotfix is applied successfully from clish
     hotfix> list-applied-hotfixes
  7. Close the SFTP session opened earlier
     utilities> sftp-session stop
  8. Repeat the steps 4 to 7 for all the VRP RM appliances.
