Installing the hotfix
=====================================================================================================


Deploying HF from Windows Management Server:
--------------------------------------------

1. Download the hotfix ("ccs-win-511HF511001844301.tar.gz") to a temporary location say -  "C:\Temp".


2. After extracting the hotfix , below two files will be available.
    - patches
    - README.txt

3. To push this hotfix on Managed Hosts, run following commands from Management Server - 

     - Type following command to go into HAL bin direcotry

       cd C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\HAL\bin

     - halsecurity login 

         You may have to provide the password for the 'admin' account which is used while logging
	 in to the Console. Default password for this account is 'password' (without single quotes).
     - To get list of all Managed hosts in a text file, run below command -	
         perl CHMGetManagedHosts.pl -f C:\Temp\mhs.txt

         Note: C:\Temp\mhs.txt obtained by running above command will have list of all MHs.
               Edit this file to keep only name of those systems where HF has to be deployed.

     - To deploy the hotfix on all systems listed in C:\Temp\mhs.txt, run below command -
         Perl PushUpgrade.pl -u C:\Temp\patches\VRTSccs-F511001844301.tar.gz -H C:\Temp\mhs.txt

4. After you deploy the hotfix, you can check the installation logs as follows:

    - To see the detailed logs, go to CommandCentral Storage Data directory.
      C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage Data\Data\HAL\maint\VRTSccs-F511001844301\time_stamp\output

    - Check if there are any errors in the stderr.txt file.

    - Check the detailed logs of hotfix application in the stdout.txt file.


5. Check the hotfix details in "cc_version.txt" file -

    - Open "cc_version.txt" file present in below location.     
      cd C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\Version

    - Check the FIXID and other details. For example:
       FIXID=F511001844301
       DATE=Mon Nov  2 13:03:29 2009
       DESCRIPTION=MS Exchange Explorer Hotfix


Deploying HF Solaris Management Server:
---------------------------------------

1. Download the hotfix ("ccs-win-511HF511001844301.tar.gz") to a temporary location say - "/tmp".
