OS Version: Windows 2003, Windows 2008

Etrack Incidents: 1919142, 1925491
Errors/Problems Fixed: Fixed issue where the SFW SCOM 2007 pack produced in
SFW 51SP1 could be installed only on SCOM 2007 R2, when it was also supposed
to support SCOM 2007 SP1. Also used the current signing procedure for
SFW 51SP1. It's possible the older procedure from SFW 5.1 was used for the MP
included in the 51SP1 kit.
Fixes Applied for Products: SCOM 2007 SP1, enables install of SFW 5.1 SP1 SFW MP.
Install/Uninstall Instructions:
1. Copy the file SFW.Symantec.mp to a temporary folder.
2. In the Ops Manager Administration window:
   a. If an earlier version of Symantec.SFW.mp is installed, delete the pack.
If rule overrides for the SFW MP have been saved in another MP, first
export that pack, delete it, and then delete Symantec.SFW.mp.
   b. Import the new version of Symantec.SFW.mp. If you exported a rule override
pack in step 1, import that pack following completion of Symantec.SFW.mp
      import.
Notes:
1. On System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1, MPIO path performance counters
cannot be displayed. This feature works only when the MP is installed on System
   Center Operations Manager 2007 R2.
2. On System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, the script that collects MPIO path
performance counters on agent managed machines fails for Windows 2008 x64 servers.
The error contains text similar to “The process started at 2:09:51 PM failed to
create System.PropertyBagData. Errors found in output:”. This error occurs with
   Microsoft performance counters as well.

1. Overview
On SCOM 2007 SP1 servers, the Symantec.SFW.mp could not be installed, due to
dependencies on SCOM assemblies from SCOM 2007 R2.
When attempting to import the pack into SCOM 2007 SP2, errors such as the
following are seen in the import window:
"The Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows by Symantec management pack
will fail to import because it depends on the following management packs:
<a list of several Microsoft MPs with version 6.1.7221.0 will be listed here>
"
2. Resolution
The Symantec.SFW.mp was rebuilt with a dependency baseline of 6.0.6278.0 for
Microsoft MPs.
3. Installing the hotfix
If you exported a rule override
pack in step 1, import that pack following completion of Symantec.SFW.mp
      import.
