Instructions to apply the hotfix
===========================================================================


A - Overview of the HotFix
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apply the HotFix (VRTSccsF512002043463) on the 5.1.2 Management
Server.

Supported operating systems include: 

  - Solaris 8, 9, and 10
  - Windows Server 2000, 2003, and 2008

Deploying HF on Windows Management Server:
==========================================

(The following assumes that CommandCentral has been installed on Windows 32-bit OS host in default installation directory)

1. Download the hotfix ("ccs-HF512002043463.tar.gz") to a temporary location say - "C:\Temp".

2. After extracting the hotfix , below two files will be available.
    - patches
    - README.txt

3. To apply the hotfix on MS, do the following:

   - Type the following command to change to the HAL bin directory:
     cd C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\HAL\bin

   - Type the following command to deploy the hotfix on MS :

     perl LocalUpgrade.pl C:\Temp\patches\VRTSccs-F512002043463.tar.gz

4. After you deploy the hotfix, check the installation logs as follows:

   - Go to CommandCentral Storage Data directory.
     C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage Data\Data\HAL\maint\VRTSccs-F512002043463\<time_stamp>\output

   - Check if there are any errors in the stderr.txt file.
   - Check the detailed logs of hotfix application in the stdout.txt file.

5. Check the hotfix details in "cc_version.txt" file -

    - Open "cc_version.txt" file present in below location.     
      cd C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\Version

    - Check the FIXID and other details.

==========================================

(The following assumes that CommandCentral has been installed in the default installation directory)

1. Download the hotfix ("ccs-HF512002043463.tar.gz") to a temporary location say - "/tmp".

2. After extracting the hotfix , below two files will be available.

3. To apply the hotfix, do the following:

     cd /opt/VRTSccs/VRTShal/bin

   - Type the following command to deploy the hotfix:

     ./perl LocalUpgrade.pl /tmp/patches/VRTSccs-F512002043463.tar.gz

4. After you deploy the hotfix, you can check the installation logs as follows:

   - Go to CommandCentral Storage Data directory.
     cd /var/VRTSccs/data/VRTShal/maint/VRTSccs-F512002043463/<time_stamp>/output

   - Check if there are any errors in the stderr.txt file.

5. Check the hotfix details in "cc_version.txt" file -
