A - Overview of the Hotfix
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Etrack - 1965998
----------------
SYMPTOM: vxsvc dumps core on startup on 5.0MP3 systems.

DESCRIPTION: On systems where more than 1000 virtual IPs are configured, ioctl
call fails and vxsvc dumps core on startup.

RESOLUTION: Changed the code to use gethostname instead of ioctl calls, since
we now use loopback address for communication and there is no
             need to make ioctl calls.

Packages applied: VRTSobc33

Build Version: 3.3.226.0

Etrack - 1914596
----------------
SYMPTOM: vxsvc dumps core on startup

DESCRIPTION: If the alertlog.db or tasklog.db file are corrupt due to some
reason, vxsvc process dumps core on startup.

RESOLUTION: During vxsvc startup, vxsvc process verifies that both the db log
files are not corrupt. If they are, it deletes them and creates new ones.
