CommandCentral Storage (CCS) 5.x installation or un-installation causes 
Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) 5.x/Storage Foundation for Windows HA (SFWHA) 5.x features 
to stop working.  

Issues Observed: 
 - The SFW Firedrill's wizards remote discovery operations fail.
 - Clustered solutions do not work properly.  Volume resource does not come online automatically when 
   the service group becomes online. Manual intervention is required for volume resource to come online.

Instructions to apply the hotfix
============================================================================

A - Overview of the HotFix
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

**Always** Apply the hotfix on systems where the CommandCentral Storage 5.x is installed/uninstalled 
on Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW)/Storage Foundation for Windows HA (SFWHA) box.

Support Operating Systems:

- Windows 32 bit, Windows 64 bit


B - Deploying the hotfix on Windows Host
----------------------------------------------------------------------------


1. Copy the hotfix ("ccs-win-5.1.2HF512002127766w-patch.zip") to the local system where hotfix is intended to apply.

2. Extract the hotfix.  After extracting, the following files are available.

   - README
   - patches
   - patches\vdidkeysvc.exe


3. To apply the hotfix, please do the following:
   
   - Open a Windows Command Line

   - Type the following commands:
   
     cd C:\Temp\patches
     vdidkeysvc.exe -i

   
4. Restart the Veritas Storage Agent Service

   - Go to Windows Services Console, Restart Veritas Storage Agent Service.

Instructions to remove/uninstall the hotfix
============================================================================   
   
It is recommended that the hotfix to be removed/uninstalled only when the Storage Foundation 
for Windows (SFW)/Storage Foundation for Windows HA (SFWHA) is uninstalled from the host permanently. 

1. To remove/uninstall the hotfix, please do the following:

- Open a Windows Command Line

- Stop the Windows Service 'vdidfixsvc'

  net stop vdidfixsvc
  
- Remove the Windows Service 'vdidfixsvc' from the Windows Service Console

  sc delete vdidfixsvc
