A - Overview of the HotFix
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

========================================================================
VOM hotfix that prevents VOM agent from invoking fsckptadm command
that can cause VCS monitors on CFS installations to timeout
========================================================================

This hotfix applies to VERITAS Cluster File System hosts that are managed by VOM, and prevents VOM agent from invoking the "fsckptadm" command during LDR discovery that might cause some VCS agent monitors to timeout.

The HF also contains a modified gendeploy.pl script which will also apply the HF before LDR discovery is run when host is being configured to the VOM central server. To ensure that the HF is applied, re-generation of the VOM attach / configure (gendeploy.pl) script will be required.

Note: Information about large and mounted file systems will not be displayed in the LDR report after deployment of this hotfix.

Instructions to apply the hotfix
============================================================================

1. Download the file "HF030040200-02.sfa".
2. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
3. Navigate to "Settings -> Deployment Management -> Add-ons" tab.
4. Upload the add-on to the VOM CMS using the "upload" button.
5. For hosts that are already added to the VOM domain, follow the steps below to apply the hotfix:
 a) Once the add-on with the name HF030040200-02 is visible under the table below, the user can choose (via option "Install") to deploy this on the hosts.
 b) Select the hosts where the hotfix needs to be deployed.
6. For any new hosts that need to be added to the VOM domain, follow the steps described below to apply the hotfix:
 a) Download the host addition script (referred to as gendeploy script) using the "Settings -> Host Management -> AutoConfigure -> Download" button.
 b) Execute this script on all the hosts that have VRTSsfmh installed and need to be added to the VOM domain.
Note:
1. Gendeploy scripts generated before applying the hotfix should be discarded.
2. Hosts added using the UI without using the gendeploy script will not have this fix.
3. In case the host needs to be added using the UI, it is recommended to replace the /opt/VRTSsfmh/agentlet/VRTS/LDR/S30PrdEvidence.pm file manually on the managed host before adding the host. The replacement file can be found within the hotfix file "HF030040200-02.sfa". To extract this replacement file, rename the file "HF030040200-02.sfa" to "HF030040200-02.tar.gz" and extract the file from this archive.
