This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

SYMPTOM:
Unable to Configure AIX MH due to "Right truncation of string data" error.
 

DESCRIPTION:
HF040010970-03.sfa is applicable for VOM 4.0 across all central management server platforms.


HF HF040010970-03 addresses the following issue:
The Configuration of a MH fails if the Time Zone is greater than 32 characters.


RESOLUTION:
The fix supports Time Zone up to 64 characters in length.


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
This hotfix is applicable for VOM Central Server. 
It has to be installed on the VOM CMS. 

1. Download the file "HF040010970-03.sfa".
2. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
3. Navigate to Settings -> Deployment Management tab.
4. Upload the add-on to the VOM CMS using the "upload" button.
   The HF HF040010970-03 should be  visible in the table below.
5. HF install instruction for VOM CMS and VOM CMS that has HA setup: 

   a. For VOM CMS that is NOT HA setup
      - Select the HF and install it.

   b. For VOM CMS that has HA setup, the HF HF040010970-03 needs to be installed first on 
      the active node.  Once the install is complete, install the HF on non-active nodes. 

      - In the Deployment Management page, click on the HF HF040010970-03 and it will take you 
        to the Deployment Summary page.  Select the active node and install the HF. 
        Once the install on active node is completed, navigate to the same page to
        select the non-active nodes and install the HF.  

   Note: This HF install restarts webserver and db processes and hence it forces to log off 
         the VOM GUI.  You have to login the VOM GUI again at every install. 

REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
1. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
2. Navigate to Settings -> Deployment Management tab.
3. Remove instruction for VOM CMS and VOM CMS that has HA setup:
   a. For VOM CMS that is NOT HA setup
      - Click the HF or add-on and it takes you to the Deployment Summary page  
        Select VOM CMS host and uninstall the HF.

   b. For VOM CMS that has HA setup, The HF needs to be uninstalled first on the active node,
      and then uninstall HF on the non-active node. 
      - Click on the HF or add-on and it takes you to the Deployment Summary Page.
        Select the active node and uninstall the HF.
        Once the uninstall on active node is completed, navigate to the same page to select
        the non-active node and uninstall the HF.
