===============================================================

This README provides information on:
 * GETTING STARTED
 * APPLYING THE PATCH

GETTING STARTED
---------------

This README file contains instructions on how to use the Symantec ApplicationHA 6.0 license patch for the Common Product Installer (CPI).

The patch contains the following file:
ApplicationHA60_license_cpi_patch.pm

Before you install this patch, ensure that your system runs only supported configurations.

Etrack Incidents: 2676052

Symptom-Description-Resolution (SDR)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Symptom
During the post-installation steps for ApplicationHA, the validity checks for the embedded evaluation license key may fail, and a related error message may appear:
"Cannot register evaluation key on system <system_name>"

Description
This behavior is observed during installations that occur after December 31, 2011.

Resolution
Symantec has issued a patch for the CPI installer. After you apply the patch, if you specify the evaluation license key option during ApplicationHA installation, CPI installs a modified evaluation license key.

APPLYING THE PATCH
------------------
The patch contains the following file:
ApplicationHA60_license_cpi_patch.pm

1. Create a directory on the virtual machine from where you want to run the CPI installer program:
   # mkdir -p /var/tmp/cpi_patch
   # chmod 700 /var/tmp/cpi_patch
2. Copy the patch file to the /var/tmp/cpi_patch directory.
3. Navigate to the ApplicationHA install media.
4. Run the installapplicationha script with the "-require <patch_file_path>" option:
   # ./installapplicationha -require /var/tmp/cpi_patch/ApplicationHA60_license_cpi_patch.pm
