INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH

This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

SYMPTOM:
Removing a MH that had Control Host Addon installed is not allowed from the VOM
UI and vomadm script if the xprtld is down or VOM MH package is removed from the MH

DESCRIPTION:
If a MH has CH add-on installed and for some reason, MH is down or xprtld is
down or VOM-MH package was removed, then removing the MH from VOM UI is not
allowed and even vomadm failed to remove such a MH.

RESOLUTION:
Allow forceful removal of a MH having CH add-on installed using vomadm. This
option is to be used only if the MH is down or for some reason VOM MH package was
uninstalled from the MH


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
This hotfix is applicable for VOM CMS.

1. Download the file HF040101190-07.sfa
2. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
3. Navigate to Settings >  Deployment Management tab.
4. Upload the HF to the VOM CMS using the Upload button.
   HF040101190-07 should be visible in the table below.
5. Select the HF and click the Install button.
6. This will install the HF on the CMS


REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
1. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
2. Navigate to Settings >  Deployment Management tab.
3. Remove instruction for VOM CMS
   - Click the HF and it takes you to the Deployment Summary page
   - Select VOM CMS host and uninstall the HF.


SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------
To execute vomadm to forcefully remove the MH host having the ControlHost addon installed, follow the below steps.

1. Login to the CMS
  a. As administrator in case of Windows
  b. As root in case of Solaris or Linux
2. Go to the Install Directory of VRTSsfmh
  a. Check below for default path locations
3. Go to the 'bin' dir (cd bin)
4. Execute the below command
  $ ./vomadm host-mgmt -remove -host <Control-Host-name>  --force
5. Execution of above command will remove the MH from the VOM UI

Windows : C:\Program Files\VERITAS\VRTSsfmh
