INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH

This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

* 2718319 (Tracking ID: 2729974)

SYMPTOM:
VCS discovery in VOM is case-insensitive. If two service-groups or resources in
a cluster have same matching names, but different case, then VOM discovery is
incorrect.

DESCRIPTION:
VOM DB is case-insensitive. The backend discovery of VOM discovers SG and
resources with same-name, but while inserting in the VOM-DB, they get over-written

RESOLUTION:
Fixed the backend discovery to generate a random-hash key for VCS objects with
same-name (but different case).


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
This hotfix is applicable for VOM 4.1 Managed Hosts.

1. Download the file HF040101190-10.sfa
2. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
3. Navigate to Settings ->  Deployment Management tab.
4. Upload the add-on to the VOM CMS using the "upload" button.
   The HF HF040101190-10 should be visible in the table below.
5. HF install instructions
    - In the Deployment Management page,  click on the HF HF040101190-10 and it
    will take you to the Deployment Summary page. Select the 4.1 Managed
    hosts on which you want to apply the HF and click on the Install button.
    - If the CMS version is 4.1, it is recommended to install the HF first
    on the CMS and then on the other managed hosts.


REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
1. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
2. Navigate to Settings ->  Deployment Management tab.
3. Remove instruction for HF
   - In the Deployment Management page, click on the HF HF040101190-10 and it
   will take you to the Deployment Summary page. Select the 4.1 managed
   host/s on which the status shown is "Enabled" (HF installed) and click on
   Uninstall button.
