INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH

This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

SYMPTOM:
Discovery of DS8800 array is failing due to out of memory issue in Perl process.

DESCRIPTION:
Perl process is consuming very high memory during DS8800 array
discovery. Since VRTSsfmh perl is 32 bit binary, it hits memory limit which
results in perl process to be out of memory error. This issue occurs only if the
array configuration is huge.

RESOLUTION:
Optimized the memory consumption taken by array_driver.pl Perl process.
Following changes are done only for array discovery.
1. Removed pretty formatting of JSON files.
2. Disabled sfm.dump and of SQL statements generation as both of them ar not
used for array discovery.


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
This hotfix is applicable for VOM CMS.

1. Pre-req is that Storage Insight add-on v5.0 has to installed on the CMS, otherwise the HF install will fail.
2. Download the file HFVRTSsfmsi_050001960-01.
3. Launch a browser and login to the VOM Management Server.
4. Navigate to Settings; Deployment Management tab.
5. Upload the HF to the VOM CMS.
   HFVRTSsfmsi_050001960-01 should be visible in the table below.
6. Select the HF and click the Install button.
7. This will install the HF on the CMS
8. As part of the HF install process, the VOM webserver will be restarted.


REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
1. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
2. Navigate to Settings; Deployment Management tab.
3. Remove instruction for VOM HF
   - Click the HF and it takes you to the Deployment Summary page
     Select HF and uninstall the HF from VOM CMS.
