INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH

This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

Patch ID: HF050001960-15

* 3011255 (Tracking ID: 3014934)

SYMPTOM:
vxlist is not listing Storage Foundation information on AIX 5.3.

DESCRIPTION:
vxdclid is core dumping because of an AIX undefined symbol when querying for vxfs file system information.

RESOLUTION:
Rebuild vxdclid using file system libraries that are compatible with AIX 5.3.

* 3013212 (Tracking ID: 3020472)

SYMPTOM:
vxdclid was dumping core while collecting stats.

DESCRIPTION:
vxdclid has been crashing with SIGSEGV fault in process_iostats_for_dmpstats() 
at 30 minutes interval on several MHs when CS polls the subject MHs.

RESOLUTION:
The code has been fixed to prevent vxdclid from dumping core when stats 
collection is enabled.

* 3030371 (Tracking ID: 3030200)

SYMPTOM:
vxdclid spins when Stats set to false in dcli_conf.ini.

DESCRIPTION:
vxdclid was going into an infinite loop when vxdclid was restarted after 
disabling the stats collection in the dcli_conf.ini.

RESOLUTION:
The code has been fixed by changing the interval to 60 sec instead of 0.


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
This hotfix is applicable for VOM 5.0 Managed Hosts.

1. Download the file HF050001960-15.sfa
2. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
3. Navigate to Settings ->       Deployment Management tab.
4. Upload the add-on to the VOM CMS using the "upload" button.
   The HF HF050001960-15 should be visible in the table below.
5. HF install instructions
    - In the Deployment Management page,  click on the HF HF050001960-15 and it will take you to the Deployment Summary page. Select the 5.0 Managed hosts on which you want to apply the HF and click on the Install button.


REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
1. Launch a browser and login to the VOM management server.
2. Navigate to Settings ->       Deployment Management tab.
3. Remove instruction for HF
   - In the Deployment Management page, click on the HF HF050001960-15 and it will take you to the Deployment Summary page. Select the 5.0  managed host/s on which the status shown is "Enabled" (HF installed) and click on Uninstall button.
