INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
The VRTSvxfs-6.0.300.100 patch may be installed either manually
(see below) or using the included installer.

 * To apply the patch using the installer, enter the commands
        # cd <hotfix_directory>  && ./installFS603P1  [ <node1> <node2>... ]

    where
      <hotfix_directory>
is the directory where you unpacked this hotfix
      <node1>, <node2>, ...
are the nodes to be patched. If none are specified, you
will be prompted to enter them interactively.

For information about installer options, run './installFS603P1 -help'.

 * To apply the patch manually, perform the steps listed below.

 1. Quiesce and unmount VxFS filesystems:
   a) Stop all applications which are using VxFS filesystem(s)
   b) Quiesce VxFS filesystems and drain I/O buffers
   c) Unmount all non-root VxFS filesystems

 2. Locate the VRTSvxfs-6.0.300.100-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm package and note the
absolute pathname of its containing directory (either on shared storage
or copied to each node's local store).

 3. On each system, execute the following command:
        # rpm -Uvh <pkg_directory>/VRTSvxfs-6.0.300.100-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm

where <pkg_directory> is the directory pathname from step 2 above.

REMOVING THE PATCH
------------------
Since the patch package replaces the extant version of the VRTSvxfs package
when installed, after removing the patch it is necessary to reinstall the
pre-patch version of VRTSvxfs. Your installation media should contain the
VRTSvxfs package which you will reinstall.

 1. Quiesce and unmount VxFS filesystems:
   a) Stop all applications which are using VxFS filesystem(s)
   b) Quiesce VxFS filesystems and drain I/O buffers
   c) Unmount all non-root VxFS filesystems

 2. On each system, uninstall the VRTSvxfs package which you installed during
    patch application:
        # rpm -ehv VRTSvxfs-6.0.300.100-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm

 3. On each system, reinstall the pre-patch version of VRTSvxfs from original
    installation media:
        # rpm -ihv VRTSvxfs-6.0.300.0-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm

You may need to reboot your system(s) after completing this operation.
