DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents: Patch ID: 6.0.1.200 * 3038705 (Tracking ID: 3042817) SYMPTOM: If you try to use the VMware vSphere Client menu to upgrade from Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) 6.0.2 to VCS maintenance release (MR) 6.0.3 or later, or to Agent Pack 4Q2012 or later, the upgrade fails on virtual machines running Linux. The following error message appears: "Latest version of product is already installed. The installation cannot continue." DESCRIPTION: This behavior occurs because the pre-installation check fails to determine that a product update is available. RESOLUTION: Symantec has issued a p-patch that you can apply to the Symantec High Availability Console host, to fix this issue. * 3119956 (Tracking ID: 3158311) SYMPTOM: If you try to install guest components on Linux guests by using the vSphere Client GUI, the guest component installation wizard may fail without a warning. However, the wizard logs an insufficient disk space error. DESCRIPTION: This behavior occurs due to an error in the pre-installation check for available disk space. When you launch the guest component installation wizard from the vSphere Client, the wizard performs certain pre-installation checks on the guest. In some cases, even if the disk space is insufficient, the pre-installation check is successful. The wizard proceeds with guest component installation, but later fails due to insufficient disk space. RESOLUTION: Symantec has issued a patch that you can install on the Console host. The patch installs modified versions of certain installation scripts to work around the issue. * 3128413 (Tracking ID: 3164407) SYMPTOM: In a VMware virtual environment, while upgrading from VCS 6.0.2 to VCS 6.0.3 or a later maintenance release, when you launch the Symantec High Availability Guest Components Installer (wizard), the Product Selection panel of the installer displays only VCS 6.0.2 installation packages. DESCRIPTION: This is a user interface text error. As part of the upgrade prerequisites, you must first upgrade the installation packages repository on the Symantec High Availability Console host. After you upgrade the repository, the installer must display the upgraded installation packages in the Product Selection panel. However, the GUI text does not explicitly state that the 6.0.3 packages are available for installation. RESOLUTION: Symantec has modified the user interface text in the Product Selection panel to reflect that updated packages (from VCS 6.0.2 to VCS 6.0.3) are available for installation.
