Case 1: Fresh Installation

If Volume manager is installed for the first time on a machine use

rpm -ivh  VRTSvxvm-4.0.10.1-MP1_PP2_RHEL3.i386.rpm

Case 2 : Upgrade

If you want to upgrade the existing VM package use

rpm -Uvh VRTSvxvm-4.0.10.1-MP1_PP2_RHEL3.i386.rpm

Case 1 :

To remove VM from the machine do an

rpm -ev VRTSvxvm-4.0.10.1-MP1_PP2_RHEL3

Case 2:

Inorder to revert back to the old package do

rpm -Uvh --oldpackage  <location of old package>
