Performing a single-tier installation

The computer on which you install Veritas Data Insight must contain only the software that is required to run the product. Veritas does not support installing Veritas Data Insight on a computer with non-essential applications.

Note:

In single-tier mode, the Management Server functions as the Collector and the Indexer for the file servers.

To perform a single-tier installation

  1. Perform the preinstallation steps.

    See Preinstallation steps.

  2. Install the Management Server.

    See Installing the Management Server.

    Optionally install one or more Portal nodes.

    See Installing the Self-Service Portal .

  3. Perform other post-installation configuration.

    See Post-installation configuration.
