Creating the Primary RVG for an RDS
The task Create Primary for an RDS enables you to associate data volumes and the SRL with the Primary RVG. This task performs the following operations:

Creates the Primary RVG on the host on which the command is initiated.

Associates the specified data volumes and the SRL to the RVG.

To create the Primary

Choose Configure Replicated Data Set (RDS) > Create Primary for an RDS.
The Create Primary for an RDS screen displays.

In the Disk Group entry field, type or select the name of the disk group. To select from a list of disk groups, press F4 to display the list, and the following screen displays. You can select the disk group from this list.

In the Name of RVG entry field, type the name of the RVG.
Note
creates the RDS with the same name as the RVG.

Display the data volumes by pressing F4.

Select the data volume by positioning your cursor on the data volume and then pressing F7.

To continue selecting data volumes, repeat step 5.
An arrow (>) displays to the left of the selected volume(s).

Type or select the name of the volume to use as the SRL.

To initiate the task, press enter.
The command status screen displays.

Press F3 until you return to Main menu.
