The PrivNIC resource can be used to maintain a "private IP address" that is locally highly available on LLT Ethernet interfaces. Such private IP addresses are required by the CRS daemons in Oracle to provide communication.
The PrivNIC agent relies on LLT to monitor the interfaces. It queries LLT to count the number of visible nodes on each of the LLT interfaces.
