About the Veritas Cluster Server Agent for Oracle

The Veritas Cluster Server Agent for Oracle provides high availability for Oracle. Veritas high availability agents monitor specific resources within an enterprise application, determine the status of these resources, and start or stop them according to external events. The agents include resource type declarations and agent executables.

The agent for Oracle monitors the Oracle and listener processes, brings them online, and takes them offline. The agent package for Oracle contains two agents that work together to make Oracle highly available:

• The Oracle agent monitors the Oracle database processes.
• The Netlsnr agent monitors the listener process.
