File system clustering is an optional, separately licensed feature of VxFS, where one system is configured as a primary server for the file system, and the remaining members of a cluster are configured as secondary servers. All servers access shared disks for file data operations. If the primary server fails, one of the secondary servers takes over the file system operations.
