fsdb_vxfs - VxFS file system debugger
fsdb [ -t vxfs ] [ generic_options ] special
VRTSvxfs
The
fsdb
command is a powerful tool that can modify the structural elements of a file
system.
When used correctly,
it can repair damaged file systems.
However, when used incorrectly,
it can cause serious and possibly unrepairable damage to a file system.
Symantec therefore recommends that
fsdb
be used only in close consultation with Symantec technical support.
Although there are no specific cluster file system
issues with this command,
fsdb
is meant for knowledgeable VxFS file system users
and should be used very carefully to avoid losing data.
Always run a file system check after using
fsdb
to modify a file system (use
"fsck -o full, nolog" ).
Some aspects of
fsdb
apply to a specific
VxFS disk layout version.
Only the VxFS Version 4,
Version 6,
and later disk layouts are supported.
