migrate changes Storage Foundation 5.0 standalone hosts to Veritas Storage Foundation Management Server centrally managed hosts, and migrates Storage Foundation 5.0 centrally managed hosts to standalone hosts.
SF Management Server can manage Storage Foundation 4.x hosts; however, you must install the Veritas Storage Foundation 4.x Host Management package on them.

domain_controller can be the Management Server short name, IP address, or fully-qualified host name.
If you do not specify a password on the command-line, then migrate prompts for one and does not display the password as you type it. The -p password option is for those who want to use migrate in scripts.
By default, migrate resides in: /opt/VRTSmh/bin
You can move one managed host from the current Management Server to another Management Server server following these steps:

EXAMPLE 1:
The following command migrates a Storage Foundation host to a SF Management Server centrally managed host:
migrate central_mode -d centralserver.example.com
EXAMPLE 2:
The following command migrates a SF Management Server centrally managed host to a Storage Foundation standalone host:
migrate standalone_mode -d centralserver.example.com
