NAME

vxlicrep - Reports all Symantec license keys installed on the system.

SYNOPSIS

vxlicrep [-gse] [-i] [-k Key1, Key2, ] [-h] [-v]

DESCRIPTION

Reports licensing information about Symantec products licensed and installed on a system, including Elan License Manager (ELM) keys. The output includes product information (name, version, product ID) and the contents of the product-specific data encoded in each license key.


ARGUMENTS

-g
Generates the default report. See the NOTES section below for details about the different types of reports. If no switch is provided, the default report is generated.
-s
Generates a short version of the report.
-e
Generates an expanded version of the report.
-i
Displays valid license keys only. If no switch is provided, both valid and invalid keys are displayed.
-k Key1,Key2,...
Displays details about one or more specified license keys. If entering multiple keys, separate each key with a comma. Use with the -g, -s, or -e switch to control the amount of information displayed for each key.

You can use this switch to verify that a license key is correct for a product. You might want to test a license key before running vxlicinst with that key.

Lists and describes the command line switches available for this command.
-v
Displays the version of this utility.

Notes

Default Report--Outputs product information encoded in each license key. Product information includes the license key string, product name, version, serial number, license type (Demo, NFR, permanent), and OEM ID if applicable. If the license is for a Demo or NFR license, the information includes the duration of the license and whether it has expired. The tool also reports site license and node-locked keys. For node-locked keys, the tool indicates whether the key is valid on the host system.

Short Report--Outputs only the license key string, product name, and license type of each license key reported.

Expanded Report--Outputs the same information contained in the default report. In addition, the expanded report provides the following:

0 Successful completion

\>0 An error occurred
