vxfinger - displays information about the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (Java console) users connected to the Local Controller (vxsvc).
vxfinger -h
vxfinger [{-l host}{-u user@domain.domain_type}{-p password}]

Fully-qualified user name
-
Real name of the user
-
Connected time
-
IP address of the host to which the user is connected.
If used on a centrally managed host with the optional switches
-l,
-u, and
-p, then
vxfinger
connects to the Domain Controller on the Management Server and reports on all users in the domain.

Provides usage information for
vxfinger.

-l, --host host
-
host
is the short host name, IP address, or the fully-qualified host name for the Domain Controller host.

-u, --user-id user@domain.domainType
-
The user ID.
user
is a valid account for the Domain Controller host.domain
is a valid authentication domain for the Domain Controller host.
domainType
is the type of authentication domain for the Domain Controller host, and can be the following:
vx,
nisplus,
nis,
nt, and
unixpwd.

-p, --password user_passwd
-
Password for the specified account.
Information about users connected with the shared memory log switched on is not displayed.
When
vxfinger
returns no output, no VEA (Java console) users are connected to
vxsvc, or the
vxfinger
user has insufficient privileges to query users.

Before running
vxdbms_start_db.pl, you must first source the script, by changing to the
/opt/VRTSdbms3
directory and running the appropriate command:

Bourne shell and Korn shell:
. ./vxdbms_env.sh

C shell:
source ./vxdbms_env.csh
