Running high availability commands (HA) commands as non-root users on clusters in secure mode

Perform the following procedure to configure VCS to not prompt for passwords when a non-root user runs HA commands on a cluster which runs in secure mode.

To run HA commands as non-root users on clusters in secure mode

  1. Set the VCS_DOMAIN and VCS_DOMAINTYPE environment variables as follows:

    • VCS_DOMAIN=nodomain

    • VCS_DOMAINTYPE=localhost

    You can set the VCS_DOMAIN value to any dummy value.

  2. Run any HA command. This step generates credentials for VCS to store the authentication information. For example, run the following command:
    # hasys -state
