Changing the tunable values using SMIT

Several VxVM parameters can be tuned using the System Management Interface Tool (SMIT). Some VxVM parameters can be tuned only using the vxtune command.

To change the values of the tunables

  1. Select Systems Storage Management (Physical & Logical Storage) > VERITAS Volume Manager > Change / Show VxVM Tunables
  2. Press the down arrow key until the particular tunable parameter displays.
  3. Change the value of the tunables as follows:
    • Tunables with values in bytes.

Position your cursor in the entry field, enter a new value (in bytes), and then press Return to initiate the change.

    • Tunables with options, such as Transport used for VVR and Replication over NAT based Firewall.

Position your cursor in the entry field. Press the Tab key until the desired value appears.

  4. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
