Upgrading the second subcluster using the web-based installer

Perform the following procedure to upgrade the second subcluster (node03 and node04).

To start the installer to upgrade the second subcluster

  1. Confirm that you are logged on as the superuser and you mounted the product disc.
  2. Navigate to the folder that contains installsfha.
    # cd storage_foundation_high_availability
  3. Make sure that you can ssh or rsh from the node where you launched the installer to the nodes in the second subcluster without requests for a password.
  4. Start the web-based installer.

    See Starting the web-based installer.

  5. Indicate the systems on which you want to upgrade. Enter all the system names (node03 and node04) in first subcluster, separated by spaces. Click Next.
  6. The installer discovers if any of the systems that you want to upgrade have mirrored and encapsulated boot disks. For each system that has a mirrored boot disk, you have the option to create a backup of the book disk group. To create the backup, put a check on Split mirrors on all the systems. Check the appropriate box to use the same name for the backup disk group on all systems. You can use the default name or choose a new one. Check the systems where you want to create the backup. When you are ready, click the Next button.
  7. Installer detects the product that is installed on the specified system. It shows the subcluster information of the second phase of phase upgrade. If you want to perform upgrade on the cluster, select Yes and click Next.
  8. Enter y to agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA).
Do you agree with the terms of the End User License Agreement
    as specified in the storage_foundation_high_availability/

  10. Installer detects the packages which will be upgraded. in installed. Enter Yto confirm.
  11. Click Next to complete the upgrade. During the upgrade, find new key, select Yes to upgrade the key, and confirm the key register on the second subcluster.
  12. After the upgrade completes, the installer displays the location of the log and summary files. If required, view the files to confirm the installation status.
  13. If you are prompted to restart the systems, enter the following restart command:
    # /usr/sbin/shutdown -y -i6 -g0
  14. If you want to upgrade CP server systems that use VCS or SFHA to 6.1, make sure that you upgrade VCS or SFHA on the CP server systems. Then, upgrade all application clusters to version 6.1. For instructions to upgrade VCS or SFHA, see the VCS or SFHA Installation Guide.
  15. Perform this step if you have split the mirrored root disk to back it up. After a successful restart, verify the upgrade and re-join the backup disk group into the upgraded boot disk group. If the upgrade fails, revert the upgrade boot disk group to the backup disk group.

If you want to upgrade from 4.x, you may need to create new VCS accounts if you used native operating system accounts.
