Installing the Symantec High Availability guest components

To configure an application for high availability, you must install the Symantec High Availability guest components on the systems where you want to configure the application.

The Symantec High Availability guest components include Symantec Cluster Server for Windows (VCSW), Symantec Storage Foundation and High Availability Solution for Windows (SFW HA) and Symantec ApplicationHA. While VCSW and SFW HA enables you to configure application monitoring in a failover mode, Symantec ApplicationHA enables you to configure application monitoring in a start/stop mode only. You must install the guest components depending on the type of configuration and storage disks you plan to have.

Note:

Before you begin to install the guest components, ensure that you have installed the Symantec High Availability Console on a system that is dedicated to serve as a Console Server.

For more details refer to the Symantec High Availability Console Installation and Upgrade Guide.
