To perform pre-upgrade tasks

1. Log in as superuser on one of the nodes where you want to upgrade VCS.

2. Mount the software disc.

3. Verify that /opt/VRTS/bin is set in your PATH environment variable to execute all product commands.

4. Make the VCS configuration writable. On a node that you want to upgrade, type:

   # haconf -makerw

5. Freeze all the service groups in the configuration.

6. Freeze the service groups. On each node that you selected to upgrade, type:

   # hasys -freeze -persistent nodename

7. Save the VCS configuration.

   # haconf -dump -makero
