When LLT and GAB services are started cluster wide, LLT drivers on all the nodes form connections with one another on GAB ports. In some setup configurations, operating system's firewall blocks LLT state-machine related packets which are required for forming connections. As a result, the cluster does not form and the gabconfig - a command does not show the membership.

RHEL 6 and supported RHEL-compatible distributions:
# /etc/init.d/iptables stop
To make the changes persistent across restart:
# chkconfig --level 235 iptables off
RHEL 7 and supported RHEL-compatible distributions:
# systemctl stop firewalld
To make the changes persistent across restart:
# chkconfig --level 235 firewalld off
SLES 11: # rcSuSEfirewall2 stop
To make the changes persistent across restart:
# chkconfig SuSEfirewall2_setup off
