Set a volume to read only

Perform the following steps to set a volume to read only.

Note:

Changing a volume from read/write to read only may affect the applications that access the volume.

To set a volume to read only

  1. Right-click the volume to be set to read only.
  2. Choose Properties from the context menu that appears.

    The Properties window comes up.

  3. Check the Read only check box.
  4. Click OK.
