Deleting missing volumes from Storage Foundation

You must delete missing volumes from Storage Foundation. This will make the drive letter or mount point available and will remove information about the missing volume that is no longer relevant.

For example delete the SG2-DB1 volume. Do not delete the SG2-DB2 or SG2-tlogs volumes.

Note:

Before deleting the missing production volumes, note the volume name and drive letter or mount point. You will need this information later on for assigning the same drive letter to the snapshot volume associated with each missing production volume.

To delete a missing volume using the VEA console

  1. Right-click on the designated volume and select Delete Volume.
  2. You are prompted for verification. Click Yes to delete the volume.
