vxinitrd - create initial ramdisk images for preloading VxVM modules

The vxinitrd command is used to create an initial ramdisk image on a system that has an encapsulated root disk. The ramdisk image contains the VxVM modules and other system modules required to boot the system, together with the command executables that are needed to start the system volumes.

Running vxinitrd to recreate the initrd image is necessary if any drivers that are required to boot the system (such as an HBA driver) are updated after encapsulating the root disk.

The image argument specifies the path to the initrd image to be created. The standard image path is /boot/VxVM_initrd.img.

The kernel-version argument specifies the version of the kernel for which the initrd image is to be created.
