NAME

vxsan - provides summary view for the complete cluster and individual cluster nodes.

SYNOPSIS

vxsan list

vxsan list devices

vxsan list nodes

vxsan help option

vxsan list [name=<device-name...> | udid=<udid-name...> | dg=<diskgroup...> | dgid=<dgid...> | mediatype={ssd|hdd} | node=<nodename...>]

vxsan map {name=<device-name...> | dg=<diskgroup...>} specify comma separated list of <device-names> or <diskgroup> of the device to be mapped.

vxsan unmap {name=<device-name...> | dg=<diskgroup...>} specify comma separated list of <device-names> or <diskgroup> of the device to be unmapped.

DESCRIPTION

The vxsan helper utility is a wrapper over "vxdisk -o cluster list" CLI and in addition provides summary view for the complete cluster and individual cluster nodes.

The vxsan utility provides details of the storage connected to the cluster.
The cluster summary option vxsan list nodes, provides details of the total number of nodes and those contributing storage in the cluster, the total number of diskgroups in the cluster, the total and free storage capacity of the cluster segregated by media type (hdd/ssd).

The cluster device summary option provides the details of the devices available in the cluster along with details such as media type, capacity, diskgroup configured, number of nodes sharing the device and the state. Essentially this is same output as that of vxdisk -o cluster list and hence, can be filtered using all the associated options like diskgroup ID/name, node name, media type and free/unused.

KEYWORDS

list Provides a summary of the storage available in the cluster.
list devices
  Provides listing of devices in the cluster. Can be filtered by specifying name=<devices>, udid=<udid>, dg=<dgname> or dgid=<diskgroup ID>, mediatype={ssd|hdd}
list nodes
Provides the summary of the storage from each of the nodes in the cluster.
map Map a device available in the cluster to the local node.
unmap Unmap a previously mapped device from the local node.
