'Hot relocation' describes the ability of a system to automatically react to I/O failures. It is an automatic process that relocates subdisks from a disk that has I/O errors.
The default for Storage Foundation for Windows is to have automatic hot relocation mode inactive. This means that if an I/O error occurs in a redundant subdisk, the subdisk is not automatically relocated to another disk. The tasks to enable the hot relocation mode are described in the following hot relocation setup section.
Note: |
Dynamic disks belonging to a Microsoft Disk Management Disk Group do not support hot relocation. |
