Deploying Veritas Operations Manager Advanced involves the following basic steps:

Installing and configuring Veritas Operations Manager Management Servers
Installing and configuring Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server
Rolling up the Management Server data to the Enterprise Servers

Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server discovers information from your Veritas Operations Manager Management Servers across multiple geographic locations. Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server aggregates that information, and creates reports. The reports can be enterprise-wide, or based on a specific datacenter, geography, or business unit.

Note:

Enterprise Server can roll up data from Veritas Operations Manager Management Server 4.0 RU1 and later versions. If you are running an earlier version of Veritas Operations Manager, be sure to upgrade to version 4.0 RU1 or a later version. If you use the Veritas Operations Manager Storage Insight Add-on for Deep Array Discovery and Mapping, upgrade to the 4.0 RU1 version of the Storage Insight add-on.

You roll up Management Server data to the Enterprise Server by doing one of the following:

Using the Enterprise Server console
Running a script on each Management Server
