README VERSION : 1.0 README Creation Date : 2011-09-07 Patch-ID : 5.1.132.000 Patch Name : VRTScps-5.1SP1RP2-SLES10 BASE PACKAGE NAME : Veritas Co-ordination Point Server by Symantec BASE PACKAGE VERSION : VRTScps 5.1SP1 Obsolete Patches : NONE Superseded Patches : NONE Required Patches : NONE Incompatible Patches : NONE Supported PADV : sles10_x86_64 (P-Platform , A-Architecture , D-Distribution , V-Version) Patch Category : OTHER Reboot Required : YES KNOWN ISSUES : FIXED INCIDENTS: ---------------- Patch Id::5.1.132.000 * Incident no::2382583 Tracking ID ::1907650 Symptom::When a CP server becomes inaccessible, the engine log does not provide sufficient information for a root-cause analysis (RCA). Description::At the default log level, the CP agent does not have enough infrastructure to log comprehensive information in the engine log. This is because the CP agent is a script-based agent. As a result, when the CP agent detects a problem, it moves the resource to the Faulted state, and resumes the Online operation in the next monitor cycle. As no details are logged, you cannot do an RCA. You cannot resolve the problem, unless the problem persists, and you reset the log level to debugging. Then, based on the additional information available, you can perform an RCA for the problem. Resolution::Symantec has modified the way the CP agent logs information related to coordination points . At every state change, the CP agent logs the relevant information in the engine log. * Incident no::2382452 Tracking ID ::2209143 Symptom::If you unconfigure Coordination Point Server by using the /opt/VRTScps/bin/configure_cps.pl utility, the following unexpected messages appear: sh: -c: line 0: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `'' sh: -c: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file Description::The configure_cps.pl utility contains an irregular apostrophe character that causes the syntax error. Resolution::Symantec has modified the configure_cps.pl utility to resolve the syntax error. Incidents from old Patches: --------------------------- NONE
