DESCRIPTION: A signal sender from the cleanup function of the disk reservation agent sends a kill signal to the kernel thread. However, the signal sender does not wait for the kernel thread to finish. It finishes earlier than the kernel thread. This causes a race condition and the system panics. RESOLUTION: The cleanup function of the disk reservation agent must wait for the kernel thread to stop. It waits for the kernel thread to stop before finishing the signal thus avoiding the race condition.
