Description:

 

The Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) configuration daemon vxconfigd maintains the disk configurations and disk groups in VxVM. vxconfigd takes requests from other utilities for configuration changes, communicates those changes to the kernel and modifies configuration information stored on the disk.  When vxconfigd is not up and running, and any other VxVM utility is invoked, this message is displayed.

To solve the issue, restart vxconfigd with the following command:

 

# vxconfigd
