Invoke Oracle 10g installation through the configuration program

Installing Oracle9i using the SF Oracle RAC configuration program involves the following tasks:

• Choose the Oracle version
• Choose to install Oracle 10g Clusterware (CRS)
• Install Oracle 10g Clusterware (CRS)
• Choose to install Oracle 10g RDBMS server
• Set Oracle environment variables
• Installer invokes Oracle installation
• Installer links Oracle binaries to Veritas libraries

CRS INSTALLATION

When ORACLE CRS installer prompts you to run root.sh script, before you run this script, you need to add the init.cssd-10gR1.patch on all the cluster nodes.

a. Open another window on all the systems.

b. Log in as root user.

c. Change to the directory where the patch is to be copied:

# cd /crs_home/css/admin

# cp /opt/VRTSvcs/rac/patch/init.cssd-10gR1.patch .

d. Run the following command to install the patch:

# patch < init.cssd-10gR1.patch init.cssd

ORACLE CRS Installer will be invoked. Please wait for sometime

Press [Return] to continue:

Choose to install Oracle 10g RDBMS server
