Removing a node from an Oracle9i cluster

Tasks involved in removing one or more nodes from an SF Oracle RAC cluster include:

• Stopping gsd
• Stopping applications using CFS outside of VCS control
• Stopping VCS
• Uninstalling Oracle if installed locally (optional)
• Unlinking the Oracle binary from Veritas libraries
• Removing SF Oracle RAC using the uninstallsfrac utility
• Editing VCS configuration files on existing nodes
