Required attribute

Description

Alias 

A string representing the alias to the canonical name. 

Type and dimension: string-scalar 

Example: www 

Example: "www" 

Where www is the alias to the canonical name mtv.veritas.com. 

 

Domain 

A string representing the domain name.  

Type and dimension: string-scalar 

Example: veritas.com 

Example: "veritas.com" 

HostName 

A string representing canonical name of a system or IP address. 

Type and dimension: string-scalar 

Example: mtv.veritas.com 

Example: "mtv.veritas.com" 

TTL 

A non-zero integer representing the "Time To Live" value, in seconds, for the DNS entries in the zone you are updating. A lower value means more hits on your DNS server, while a higher value means more time for your clients to learn about changes. 

Type and dimension: integer-scalar 

Default: 86400 

Default: "86400" 

Example: 3600  

Example: "3600"

StealthMasters 

The list of primary master name servers in the domain. This attribute is optional if the zone's name server record lists the primary master name server. If the primary master name server is a stealth server, define this attribute. A stealth server is a name server that is authoritative for a zone, but is not listed in that zone's name server records. 

Type and dimension: string-keylist 

Example: 10.190.112.23
